Positive self-talk is one of the most important success tools in the arsenal of the world-class achiever. Olympians and high level professional athletes have used positive self-talk for decades. Why can’t you?
One of the most effective self-talk tools is asking yourself empowering questions:
“Thinking is nothing but the process of asking and answering questions. Asking yourself positive questions on a regular basis will help you make better decisions and improve the quality of your life.” Tony Robbins
Out of the hundreds of powerful questions I have identified, here are the ten I have found the most impactful:
- What would the highest version of myself do?
- Is this getting me closer to my goals, or farther away?
- Is this thought helping me or hurting me?
- What am I grateful for right now?

Does this ______ energize me, or take my energy away? This question can apply to:
- A person/relationship
- A type of food
- A type of exercise (yoga, weight training, martial arts, running, etc.)
- Your job
- A television show or movie
- A type of music
- An activity (reading, scrolling on Facebook, cooking, meditating, etc.),
- A place (Disney-world, a bar, your hometown, etc.)

- Ask yourself your ONE question several times a day for a week.
- Set multiple daily reminders on your phone with your question.
- Write your question on a Post It note and place it on your bathroom mirror.
- Put your question as the background image on your cell phone or laptop.
- After asking yourself this ONE question multiple times every day for a week, you will see a positive difference in your mindset, and also your results.
