The Ultimate Secret To Achievement: The World Class Why
by A.J. Madden
Understand your why. It all starts here. Without a strong why, you’ll soon be back in your old habits again. As soon as you face even the slightest bit of headwind, you’ll be eager to return to the path of least resistance. Not so when you have a great why. -Dean Graziosi
Every single one of the planet’s highest performers have a “World Class Why”. It is the key driver of their work.
A World Class Why gives elite achievers the stamina to keep moving forward, despite the adversity and pain required to walk among the best performers in the world.
There are only four World Class Why’s:
- 1. Be The Best (Compete)
- 2. Perfection Chaser (Obsession)
- 3. Big Vision/Visionary (Solve A Giant Problem or Create Something On An Enormous Scale)
- 4. To Serve Others And The World (Service)
Some world-class achievers have only one of the four. Others have two, three, or all four Why’s driving their success.
The following are examples of people throughout history who used one or more of the Why’s to drive their astronomical success:

There is also a “Deeper Why” that I call “Chip On Your Shoulder”. This is to prove someone right who believed in you, and/or prove someone wrong who doubted or wronged you.
Examples of those with a Deeper Why:
- Michael Jordan: High school basketball coach cut him from the team (prove him wrong)
- Bruce Lee: Hollywood did not believe that he could be a movie star since he was not Caucasian (prove them wrong)
- Conor McGregor: Prove his family and his coach right for believing in him
In summary, find YOUR World Class Why. It is an absolute necessity to achieving big success in any endeavor.
